We had to wait awhile once this session was booked because Kira recently had surgery for a torn ACL. (ouch!) But she’s now recovered and doing just fine. And I had the privilege of photographing this Great Dane for a display in the Camp Bow Wow lobby. Great Danes are such an impressive breed and I’ve always loved these gentle giants. Kira was no exception, with her playful personality and friendly disposition. I had started to prep this image to be a life-sized version of Kira, which I thought would have been really cool, but then realized it probably wasn’t very practical and actually wouldn’t even fit in the space for which it was intended. So we settled on a smaller version, knowing that the real-life Kira will grace the lobby of Camp Bow Wow with her larger-than-life presence on her weekly visits to one of her favorite destinations.
