Cracked Lens

PhoDographer is looking a bit more like this these days, after dropping my lens in a windstorm:

My favorite Capt. Jack gallery-wrapped canvas was also damaged.  Not my best day!  But I’m feeling a bit better because I just found out how to work our DVD player and I’m getting ready to watch Hachiko, which one of my clients kindly lent to me.  I’ve been wanting to see this movie for such a long time. I’ve got my tissue box nearby – I’m prepared.

Though the loss of his person in this true story is sad, it’s a reminder of how strong the human-animal bond can be and how much love one can receive from just one dog. And it will also remind me that things are simply that – “things”, (but oh how I loved my 24″x24″Capt. Jack canvas and my 24-70mm lens…). But things are replaceable. Companions are not. Even after they’re gone, however, the memories of those relationships, and the special place that they held in our hearts, will always be with us.

OMG! I would be so upset. Samantha made me drop my new camera yesterday on the ground outside, right before a shoot too. I was super lucky no damage was done. but the 24-70…ohh noo!!
